| Dr.Vastardis, known as “America’s Internet Dentist”, maintains an active general dental practice in Garden City, New York with an emphasis on restorative, esthetic and implant dentistry. Dr.Vastardis graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He is the founder of www.Floss.com, one of the most respected consumer educational dental websites on the Internet today and hosts the Floss.com Internet TV show. He is the author of numerous e-books and has also authored numerous articles on esthetic dentistry in professional dental journals both in the U.S and abroad.

| James J. Sciubba, DMD, PhD |
| Dr, Sciubba assumed the Directorship of the Division of Dental and Oral Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Medical Center in December 1999. His goals include the maintenance of his practice in Oral Medicine and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and development of a substantive program in Hospital Dentistry, Oral Medicine and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Teaching and administrative responsibilities within the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery are also components of this position.Dr. Sciubba is the forrner Chairman of the Department of Dental Medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, a tertiary care facility and teaching hospital in New Hyde Park, NY. He administered a large department with multiple dental residency programs, participated in the Oral Pathology biopsy service and coordinated a multispecialty faculty practice program. In addition, his clinical Oral Pathology/Oral Medicine practice provided patients with his expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of oral, jaw bone and salivary diseases. He is Professor of Oral Biology and Pathology at the School of Dental Medicine, SUNY at Stony Brook where he actively participated in Department and University committee functions and currently is a Visiting Scientist at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
Dr. Sciubba served as President o£ the Medical Board of Long Island Jewish Medical Center from 1995 through 1998 and has served on many Medical Center committees. He chaired the By-laws Committee, the Annual Academic Competition and the Human Subjects Review/IRB Committee, among others. He also served on the Medical Executive and Joint Conference committees. Dr. Sciubba is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Oral Pathology and Medicine, is a member of the editorial boards of the Compendium of Continuing Dental Education, and Critical Reviews in Oral Biology and Medicine. He served as a member of the Commission on National Board Examinations Overview Committee of the American Dental Association and the National Board of Dental Examiners. He has most recently co-authored a textbook on Cysts and Tumors of the Jaw and is preparing a text-atlas dealing with diagnosis and treatment of mouth diseases. His previous positions include: President of the American Academy of Oral Pathology; Oral Pathology Editor of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology (OOO) for six years; a member of the Editorial Board of “OOO” for an additional six years; Planning Committee member of the International AIDS Conference, 1989; Chairman of the Consensus Development Conference on Oral Complications of Cancer Therapies for the National Institutes of Health; Consultant to the National Cancer Institute and The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research; Consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation from 1978-1986; member of the National Board Examinations Overview Committee of the American Dental Association; and North American Councillor of the International Association of Oral Pathologists. As a member of the American Association of Dental Schools, he served on the Reference Committee on Association Policy, the Harry Bruce Fellowship Selection Committee and several curriculum guidelines and development committees. He served as a member of the Advisory Committee on Oral and Health Care Management of Patients with Blood-borne Infectious Diseases. He chaired both the Reference Committee on Association Administrative Affairs (in 1990) and the Council of Hospitals of The American Association of Dental Schools. Dr. Sciubba has served as an Advisor to graduate students preparing for the Ph.D. degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook on three separate occasions. Dr. Sciubba holds Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Ph.D. in Pathology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was a Fellow in Oral Pathology at the American Dental Association and attained Diplomate status from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology in 1976. Dr. Sciubba has authored several books and over 200 scientific papers, chapters and abstracts. He has received grants from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, the Long Island Jewish Medical Center Service Guild, ADM Electronics Corporation, Block Drug Company, OralScan Laboratories and The Ryan White Dental Reimbursement Program. He has been the recipient of numerous academic awards, honors, and distinctions. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Association of Hospital Dentists. As a founder of the Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation, he served as chairman of its first Medical Advisory Board. He was also co-founder of a self-help group for people with oral and head and neck cancer (SPOHNC) and currently serves as chairman of its board. |
| Leonard B. Shulman DMD |
| Leonard B. Shulman received his B.A. from Harvard College in 1955, and D.M.D. from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1960. He trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital from 1960-1962 and remains on the staff, and received an M.S. in Oral Surgery from Georgetown University in 1963.Throughout his career he has divided his time between research, teaching, and clinical practice. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and presented the Chalmers Lyons Memorial Lecture in 1971 on “Allogenic Tooth Transplantation” at the American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In 1973, he founded the Harvard Tooth Implant/Transplant Research Unit and served as co-director until 1984. From 1984-1991 he was Head of the Implant Research Department at the Forsyth Dental Center and in 1992, Director of the Division of Implant Dentistry at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
In 1978, Dr. Shulman co-chaired the Harvard Consensus development Conference on Dental Implants and presented the “Surgical Considerations in Implant Dentistry” at the NIH Consensus Development Conference in 1988. In 1996, he co-chaired the Academy of Osseointegration Consensus Conference on the Sinus Graft. He placed the first Branemark implant in New England in 1982 and is credited with introducing implant dentistry to the greater Boston area. Dr. Shulman is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and lectured at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He maintains a private oral and Maxillofacial surgical practice concentrating on dental implants and associated bone grafting procedures. He served on the Research Committee of the Academy of Osseointegration; as an editorial consultant to the Journal of Implant Dentistry, Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Dental Implantology Update; and as a Spokesdoctor on Dental Implantology for the American association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. |

| Dr. Stein graduated from Boston University with a B.A. degree in Psychology. He received his D.M.D. degree with highest awards from Boston University in 1985. Dr. Stein completed his post-doctoral specialty degree in Prosthetic Dentistry at Boston University in 1987.Dr. Stein is a member of the Prosthodontic faculty at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and The Institute For Advanced Dental Studies. Additionally, he is founder of the Dental Laser Institute. Dr. Stein is a member of the American Dental Association, O.K.U. Honor Society, Academy of Laser Dentistry, and past president of both the American College of Prosthodontists, Mass. Section and the Greater Boston Dental Society.
Dr. Stein maintains a private practice in Boston, Massachusetts. He has been featured in TV, Radio and print media for his work with dental lasers. | Donald R. Tanenbaum, DDS, MPH |
| Dr. Tanenbaum received his B.A. degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1978. Subsequently, he received his D.D.S. degree from Columbia University School of Dentistry and Oral Surgery in 1982. Concurrently he also received a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University. Following his dental school experience, he completed a two year dental residency program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center/Queens Hospital Center. This two year program provided Dr. Tanenbaum with a well-rounded pain management education. Dr. Tanenbaum currently is the chief of the Facial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorder Section within the Department of Dental Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.In 1991, Dr. Tanenbaum became a member of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and currently is the editor of the Academy’s Newsletter. Subsequently in 1995, Dr, Tanenbaum became a diplomate in the American Board of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Tanenbaum is presently the secretary/treasurer of this prestigious organization.
Dr. Tanenbaum has published a number of articles on facial pain and Temporomandibular disorders. Additionally, he has written a chapter in a textbook entitled, TMDisorders, Diagnoses and Treatment. Dr. Tanenbaum lectures to professional and lay groups along with providing educational experiences to dental residents and students at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New York University, and Stony Brook University. Dr. Tanenbaum maintains a full time clinical practice devoted to the management of facial pain, Temporomandibular disorders and sleep related breathing disorders. His offices are located in New York City, Hauppauge, Long Island, and in Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Tanenbaum is a frequent consultant to multiple insurance companies and the legal profession. | Dr. Rose received his dental degree from Temple University School of Dentistry and his graduate training in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received his MD degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania.Dr. Rose is Professor of Surgery at MCP Hahnemann School Of Medicine, Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and Clinical Professor of Periodontics at New York University College of Dentistry. | Jeffrey A. | Dr. Tarantola received his dental degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1982 and practiced dentistry in Kansas City, Missouri until 1991. During that time, he received advanced training at The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne. After completing those courses, he was asked to join the Visiting Faculty and helped teach there several times a year. He was offered a position as a Full-Time Faculty which he accepted and began there full time in 1991.
