NYC Deputy Finance Commissioner, Peter J. Lempin, Joins Floss.com’s Advisory Board

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Oct. 26, 1999–Peter J. Lempin, a native New Yorker, and Deputy Commissioner for Planning and Compliance/Acting City Collector for the City of New York, has joined the Advisory Board at Floss.com, a leading dental internet site.

Mr. Lempin became the Deputy Commissioner of Operations at the Department of Consumer Affairs, a position he held for 12 years. During his time there, he was responsible for many productivity-enhancing programs and a nationally recognized regulatory and consumer protection management information system. He also, directed the agency’s intergovernmental and labor relations programs and served on the NYC Environmental Control Board for five years.

Peter Lempin joined the Department of Finance in 1996, serving as the agency’s Deputy Commissioner for Planning and Compliance. He is responsible for the all Department’s customer service, taxpayer assistance and payment operations programs and all public policy analysis and strategic planning for the Agency. He presently holds the position of Deputy Commissioner for Planning and Compliance/Acting City Collector.

Some of Mr. Lempin’s accomplishments have included formulating a series of productivity enhancement programs saving New York City $25 million dollars, supervising the design and installation of an on-line computerized management information system integrating all aspects of organization operations, writing and administering a $7 million dollar federal job training grant targeting 1,000 + employees and organizing and directing the nation’s largest amateur athletic and recreational summer program for 100,000 youths.
