The following self test involves some questions that if answered yes may signify that you have or will have periodontal disease:

1. Do you smoke?
2. Do you chew tobacco?
3. Does bad breath remain after you brush, floss and brush your tongue?
4. Do your gums bleed when you brush?
5. Are your gums swollen or puffy?
6. Do your teeth feel like they are separating?
7. Do your teeth feel loose?
8. Do your parents have a history of loose or missing teeth?
9. Do you notice that you show more tooth structure over the years?
10. Are you a diabetic?
